TL;DR
We hold open quant trading mandates with proprietary trading and market making firms in Gurugram and Bengaluru. These are risk-taking seats: you own positions, you own the P&L, and the feedback arrives daily.
Clients are confidential until shortlist. We will tell you which firm before your profile goes anywhere.
What the work is
Running strategies on live markets and managing what happens when they behave differently from the backtest. On a market making desk that means quoting continuously and managing inventory and adverse selection in real time. On a systematic desk it means overseeing strategies, deciding when to size up or step away, and judging whether an unusual day is noise or a regime change.
Either way the job is decision-making under time pressure with incomplete information, which is why firms screen for temperament as hard as for technique.
What firms assess
Probabilistic thinking under pressure. The interview format most firms use, mental maths, games, estimation, expected value problems, is not a hazing ritual. It is a reasonable proxy for whether you can reason numerically while someone waits.
Risk instinct. Candidates who talk only about upside tend not to progress. The ones who do describe how they size, when they cut, and what they got wrong once.
Composure. These desks lose money regularly and the question is what you do on those days. Firms probe this directly and are good at detecting rehearsed answers.
Domain knowledge is useful but not a barrier. Firms hire from strong quantitative programmes, from other desks, and occasionally from backgrounds like competitive games or sports betting where the same reasoning shows up.
On timing
Trading seats open unpredictably and fill quickly. If now is not the moment, the Quant Network is how we reach you when it is.
